KYTE, KNPT, KCRF and U-92 radio stations held a Stuff-A-Bus for schools event in September sponsored by the Oregon Coast Aquarium and Mid Columbia Bus Company. The annual event is held to help raise needed funds and supplies for Lincoln County schools. A school bus was parked at the Wal-Mart parking lot and the radio stations did live onsite broadcasts throughout the day. The community showed their support by providing donations to fill the bus with needed cash and school supplies such as backpacks, pens, pencils, paper, notebooks and more. The Newport Rotary club generously donated $1,375 to the stuff a bus. Matt Spangler, president of Newport Rotary presented Station owner Dave Miller and Lincoln County Superintendent Tom Rinearson with the check. The stuff-a-bus is an annual event put on by the radio stations to benefit Lincoln City, Newport Toledo, Waldport and Siletz Schools.
